Local Comprehensive Plan (LCP)

The Local Comprehensive Plan (LCP) is an important planning tool used to guide the growth and direction of the town while balancing a wide variety of needs, including economic growth, protection of environmental resources, quality of life and community character. The plan identifies the needs, goals and visions for the Town and translates them into an implementation plan that can be carried out over time, although further Town Meeting action would be required for specific goals involving funding, use of public lands or changes to zoning.

The LCP is a dynamic document that needs periodic updating to stay current with the needs of the town and changing public policy.  Three chapters were recently updated and adopted at the 2015 Annual Town Meeting:

Chapter 11 – Wetlands
Chapter 13 – Wildlife & Plant Habitat
Chapter 14 – Affordable Housing
