Motor Vehicle Excise Tax

Overview

Motor Vehicle Excise Tax information is received from the Registry of Motor Vehicles according to the information of the motor vehicle registration. Approximately 27,000 excise bills are mailed annually in the Town of Yarmouth.  This is the 63rd most in the State out of 351 municipalities.

The State of Massachusetts sets the tax rate and provides that information to the Town of Yarmouth.  Information on Motor Vehicle ownership and billing address also comes from the State.  For more information about this tax please see the State of Massachusetts web site.
